SP 311 - Spanish for Healthcare Professionals II

This course focuses on applying previously acquired linguistic knowledge to real-world scenarios with Spanish-speaking patients in the medical field. There will be an emphasis on cultural competency and consideration of how elements of Hispanic cultures can affect medical assessment and treatment. Advanced grammatical structures will be addressed, and students will continue to develop a more nuanced vocabulary regarding common medical conditions. Students advance their communication skills through role-playing and conversational interaction.
