School of Nursing At the Endicott College School of Nursing, we strive to instill in students an appreciation for the professional role of the nurse intertwined with a liberal studies core to create a knowledgeable, resourceful, compassionate and competent nurse of the future. Deeply woven within this philosophy is the concept of applied learning, which has been the hallmark of Endicott. Within the School of Nursing, this takes place in our seven semester-long clinical courses and the Senior Internship experience in the community or acute care setting.
Our students have an excellent reputation enabling them to be employed throughout the Boston area-as well as other parts of the country-in a variety of settings and specialties. We have roughly 60 top-tier hospital affiliates, allowing students to get the very best hands-on clinical experience necessary for a successful career in nursing.
To achieve the College’s vision for the total development of the individual, with a focus on inclusivity, diversity and equality, the School of Nursing fosters international awareness and global citizenship through short-and long-term study abroad options and a sense of community through local volunteer opportunities. The moral and ethical development of students is an integral part of our program as this is the basis of the nursing profession.
We believe that a well-balanced individual leads to a well-balanced nurse. We encourage our students to participate in the many extracurricular and athletic activities offered at Endicott. We support students to increase their knowledge, gain self-confidence, strengthen their professional skills, and live lives open to change.
School of Nursing Mission Statement
The mission of the nursing programs at Endicott College is to advance the profession of nursing and improve health outcomes for all through education, research, and practice.
School of Nursing Core Values
• Collaboration - Intentional interprofessional collaboration based on mutual respect, with a goal of improving health outcomes for all. We view collaboration as an exchange of information, thoughts, and feelings that contribute to an individualized and holistic approach to health and wellness and requires intentional presence. We recognize that effective communication in healthcare requires interpersonal, intrapersonal, and technological competency.
• Inclusivity - Intentional inclusivity requires recognizing and embracing diversity in all forms, and creating a culture where differences and opposing views are invited, acknowledged, welcomed, and respected. We understand that inclusivity requires advocating for an equitable society in which all members thrive.
• Social Justice - Social justice in nursing encompasses ethics, advocacy, a moral philosophy, and a recognition of how social determinants of health contribute to inequities in all aspects of life. We believe the profession of nursing must speak with a united voice and exercise our influence to lead meaningful policy change that addresses disparities. We understand that leaders in healthcare must develop a moral resiliency grounded in integrity and respect for all.
• Caring - Compassionate caring in nursing includes both the act and emotion of caring for self and others. Compassion cannot exist without empathy and respect for human dignity. We believe that compassionate care must guide every aspect of the nurse client relationship, across all settings where nursing takes place.
• Excellence - Excellence in nursing is our commitment to patient, profession, and self. This is achieved not only through a spirit of inquiry and a dedication to evidence-based practice, but with a diligence to personal health and wellbeing to sustain the profession of nursing.

Clinical Education Experiences
The School of Nursing focuses on the critical application of knowledge by bridging the classroom to clinical experiences. Our clinical faculty are experts in their area of clinical practice and are professional mentors to our students. They are knowledgeable of the curriculum and maintain strong connections with the Director of Clinical Education and the Clinical Coordinator. Clinical nursing courses include extensive clinical experience in such areas as geriatric, medical-surgical, critical care, maternity, pediatric, psychiatric, and community health nursing. The use of Clinical Simulation is one of many hands-on strategies that we use to enhance students’ clinical judgment and handling of real-life situations and this is done in our state of the art and newly renovated nursing laboratories and Simulation Center which are equipped with high-fidelity simulation mannequins. The Senior Internship provides a path for transition into practice. This broad exposure to the field of nursing and the opportunity to work independently with a nurse preceptor gives our graduates a competitive edge in the job market.
