Admission at Endicott

Traditional Undergraduate

Endicott is committed to enrolling students from diverse backgrounds. When considering candidates for admission, the Admission Review Committee looks at the entire individual. In addition to reviewing the application and the student essay, the committee concentrates on a student’s academic record, recommendations, and co-curricular activities. Test scores (SAT or ACTs) are optional with the exception of international applicants when English is not their first language. We give additional consideration for admission to applicants who possess unusual strengths or accomplishments.

In compliance with all applicable non-discrimination laws, the College does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, disability, age, marital status, national origin, ethnicity or veteran status, or on any other basis prohibited by federal or state law, in the admission of students to any of the College’s programs and activities.

Our Admission staff is eager to introduce prospective students to the Endicott experience and looks forward to assisting them in every aspect of their college search.

Orientation for International Students

Each semester prior to the start of classes, Endicott conducts a comprehensive orientation for all new students. Orientation includes an information session designed to prepare students for academic and social life at the College, and to help them understand the cultural adjustment process and their immigration responsibilities. All incoming international students are expected to participate in New Student Orientation.

The international student advisor is available on an ongoing basis to assist international students after New Student Orientation and throughout their enrollment at the College.

Scholarships for International Students

International students may be considered for a number of institutional scholarships, which will be offered at the time of admission. International students however, are not eligible for any federal, state, or need-based Endicott grants.

Legal Obligations of International Students

After we offer admission to an international student, the student must obtain a visa from the United States consular office and must be admitted to the United States by the United States Department of Homeland Security (USDHS). For the duration of your study in the United States, you are expected to meet certain legal obligations of USDHS as discussed in the International Student Handbook, which you will receive upon your arrival on campus and which will be discussed during orientation. Maintenance of legal “student status” is the obligation of the international student. An Endicott international student who has failed to meet statutory obligations as an F-1 or J-1 student will be required to apply for reinstatement by the U.S. government. If the student’s failure to maintain status is willful, avoidable, or part of a pattern of deception, the student is subject to immediate dismissal, in accordance with College policy.

Program of Study Statement

As you apply for admission, the Office of Admission recognizes you may not be ready to select a program of study (major). However, we ask that you select the program of greatest interest to you. You can change your major once you have been offered admission and/or have enrolled at the College (as long as you meet the admission requirements and there is space available in the program). Beginning in a particular program allows you to immediately start in classes within that program to determine if it is the right fit for you. Your first year you will combine classes within your selected major and classes form our Liberal Arts Core Curriculum requirements.

If you are not learning toward a particular major or are interested in designing your own major through our Individualized Major program, please select Liberal studies.

If you decide to change your program of study after admission is offered, you must request a change in writing to the Office of Admission. This is necessary due to the number of positions available within each school of the College.

Prior to your enrollment at Endicott, your official FINAL high school transcript is required.
