ED 240 - Literacies for Learning at the Middle and Secondary School

This course is designed for pre-service teachers seeking licensure in middle or secondary schools.  Specifically, this course focuses on seven key areas of literacy development: social literacy, content literacy (subject specific), critical literacy, third-space literacy, cultural literacy, visual literacy, and multimodal literacy. Students explore how to use these forms of literacy to engage, inspire, and challenge their future students while cultivating a classroom built on meaning and effective growth. Satisfies the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion requirement.
