ED 339 - Assessment for Learning

Students will examine theories and strategies for effective design and assessment of instruction.  This course explores a wide variety of assessment methods and strategies including, but not limited to, traditional pencil-and-paper assessments, performance assessments, portfolio-based assessments, project-oriented assessments, and alternative assessments. Additionally, the nature of what counts as knowledge and learning will be explored regarding the cultural context of the American system of Education and how mastery and achievement are measured.
