ENG 266 - Science Fiction Literature: From Galaxies Far Away

Science Fiction has often been described as a literature of the future. These narratives, however, are as much products of their own time as explorations of possible presents and futures. As such, this course explores how the future (or possible presents) is imagined in science fiction literature of the 20th and 21st centuries, in order to understand what these narratives transmit about our own historical, cultural, and technological anxieties. Satisfies the Literary Perspectives General Education requirement.
