HSC 227 - Healthcare Ethics This course will introduce learners to common ethical issues arising in the context and provision of healthcare. Various topics specific to biomedical ethics, including end of life issues, organ transplantation, transgender health care, autonomy, confidentiality, and health inequalities will be discussed. These issues will be used to examine ethical reasoning, ethical theories and ethical principles. Special attention will be paid to developing skills of critical thinking through an examination of philosophical arguments and practical exercises.
