BUS 223 - Fashion and Retail Merchandising

This course presents basic theoretical and practical knowledge required to favorably commence a career in merchandising. The course emphasizes the industry’s supply chain, business structure, design, manufacture, sourcing, distribution, and retail functions along with industry terminology, current topic analysis, and career options.  Topics covered include consumer behavior, the elements of fashion, product development, fashion merchandising theory and practices, trend forecasting, and information systems.
