POL 265 - Political Psychology

This introduction to Political Psychology will examine topics such as personality and politics, candidate impression, race and politics, political violence, identity politics and voting behaviors. We will focus on psychological theories that help us to understand how people think and feel about politics. The primary goal of this course is to acquaint you with various ways in which psychological theory contributes to our understanding of politics and vice versa. Optional readings will be provided for individuals to gain additional chances to study a topic with additional depth. The class is structured as a seminar with a focus on dialogue during class.
