CJ 317 - Criminal Profiling FA O
This course explores the use of profiles in criminological theory and criminal justice practice with a focus on profiling violent crimes. The course will examine personality traits, motives, offending behaviors and psychological crime scene analysis in an attempt to analyze a suspect’s (or victim’s) psychological characteristics. Topical areas may include murder, sexual offenses, organized crime, acquisitive crime, and terrorism. These issues are addressed using a multidisciplinary approach drawing from psychology, law, sociology, and criminal justice.
