DAN 214 - Dance Improvisation Through the study of various improvisational approaches, students learn to become spontaneous problem-solvers through the use of their body. Students develop their intuitive, neuromuscular responses to express themselves and relate to others; and learn to respond to fluctuating surroundings, a benefit of this open form of movement. Communicative power and authentic approaches are established and can be implemented in any creative process as well as everyday life. Pioneers in the field of improvisation will also be studied. May be repeated for up to eight semesters for credit. Only three credits of this course can be applied toward the Aesthetic Awareness and Creative Expression General Education elective requirement.
