Admission at Endicott

Traditional Undergraduate

Endicott is committed to enrolling students from diverse backgrounds. When considering candidates for admission, the Admission Review Committee looks at the entire individual. In addition to reviewing the application and the student essay, the committee concentrates on a student’s academic record, recommendations, and co-curricular activities. Test scores (SAT or ACTs) are optional with the exception of international applicants when English is not their first language. We give additional consideration for admission to applicants who possess unusual strengths or accomplishments.

In compliance with all applicable non-discrimination laws, the College does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, disability, age, marital status, national origin, ethnicity or veteran status, or on any other basis prohibited by federal or state law, in the admission of students to any of the College’s programs and activities.

Our Admission staff is eager to introduce prospective students to the Endicott experience and looks forward to assisting them in every aspect of their college search.

All new students will receive information regarding Housing Preference Forms in May for students entering in the Fall and in December for students entering in the spring.  Students should complete the form online and return it to the Office of Residence Life with their desired housing choices.  Students will then be notified of their housing assignment prior to their arrival on campus.

Orientation for International Students

Each semester prior to the start of classes, Endicott conducts a comprehensive orientation for all new students. Orientation includes an information session designed to prepare students for academic and social life at the College, and to help them understand the cultural adjustment process and their immigration responsibilities. All incoming international students are expected to participate in New Student Orientation.

The international student advisor is available on an ongoing basis to assist international students after New Student Orientation and throughout their enrollment at the College.

Scholarships for International Students

International students may be considered for a number of institutional scholarships, which will be offered at the time of admission. International students however, are not eligible for any federal, state, or need-based Endicott grants.

Legal Obligations of International Students

After we offer admission to an international student, the student must obtain a visa from the United States consular office and must be admitted to the United States by the United States Department of Homeland Security (USDHS). For the duration of your study in the United States, you are expected to meet certain legal obligations of USDHS as discussed in the International Student Handbook, which you will receive upon your arrival on campus and which will be discussed during orientation. Maintenance of legal “student status” is the obligation of the international student. An Endicott international student who has failed to meet statutory obligations as an F-1 or J-1 student will be required to apply for reinstatement by the U.S. government. If the student’s failure to maintain status is willful, avoidable, or part of a pattern of deception, the student is subject to immediate dismissal, in accordance with College policy.

Program of Study Statement

As you apply for admission, the Office of Admission recognizes you may not be ready to select a program of study (major). However, we ask that you select the program you are learning toward the most. You can change your major once you have been accepted and/or have enrolled at the College (as long as you meet the admission requirements and there is space available in the program). Beginning in a particular program allows you to immediately start in classes within that program to determine if it is the right fit for you. Your first year you will combine classes within your selected major and classes form our Liberal Arts Core Curriculum requirements.

If you are not learning toward a particular major or are interested in designing your own major through our Individualized Major program, please select Liberal studies.

If you decide to change your program of study after admission is offered, you must request a change in writing to the Office of Admission. This is necessary due to the number of positions available within each school of the College.

Prior to your enrollment at Endicott, your official FINAL high school transcript is required. Official Final Transcripts must be sent through a secure online document system and include the date of graduation or can be sent by mail and must include the date of graduation, the signature of a school official, and the embossed seal of the High School or be on official transcript paper.

Campus Visits

At Endicott, we strive to know each of our students personally. Although a tour of our campus is not required, we encourage you to schedule a tour, an information session and interview to personally meet with a member of our admission staff. Your visit allows us to become more acquainted with you and your family while you obtain a closer look at Endicott.

We are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and select Saturdays during the academic year.  Please visit us online at https://apply.endicott.edu/visit or call the Office of Admission at (978) 921-1000, to schedule a visit.

Spring Semester Admission

Students may apply for the spring semester at Endicott following the same application procedures as required for the fall semester. The application deadline for spring is December 15. Because of the sequential nature of some programs, however, those students entering Endicott in the spring may have to delay taking certain required courses in their major until the Fall.

Advanced Placement

The College participates in the Advanced Placement Program of the College Board. Course exemption and/or credit will be awarded to students presenting scores of 3 or higher on AP examinations except for math and science exams, which require a minimum score of 4. Detailed information is available on our website at  www.endicott.edu/registrar.  Students should request that their scores be sent to the Office of Admission directly from the College Board (Code 3369). Once the scores have been evaluated, students will be notified of any advanced standing awarded.

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

Students may take advantage of the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and receive credit for certain courses. CLEP examinations cover material taught in courses that most students take as requirements in the first two years of college. Endicott will award the same amount of credit to students earning satisfactory scores on the CLEP examination to students successfully completing that course.

Deferring Admission

Students who are interested in deferring their enrollment must submit their request in writing to the Office of Admission with a specific reason and details regarding what they will be doing for the deferral time period - email all requests to admission@endicott.edu . If the student does not enroll as a full-time degree-seeking student at another institution (12 credits or less), most requests are granted. Deferral requests must be received by July 31st for the fall semester and December 31st for the spring semester.

Upon approval by the Office of Admission, a student must submit a non-refundable $500 Enrollment/Continuation Deposit for the original semester (and deposit deadline) they were admitted. They will be invoiced for a second $500 non-refundable deferral payment to hold their place for the approved future semester/year. The payment will be applied to their student account when enrolled at the College. Should the student not enroll at the College, both the deposit and payment will be retained.

Social Media Statement

As a practice, the College in general and in particular the Office of Admission does not monitor social media platforms for content regarding prospective students. However, when posting information on the internet, please keep in mind that you are responsible for your statements and any consequences that may arise. If subjects of inappropriate nature are brought to our attention, it may lead up to and include rescinding an offer of admission to the College. Please think about how you represent yourself, not only to the higher education community, but to your friends, family, future employers, and the community at large.
