DHH 505 - Deaf History & Culture Teachers of Deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) learners require understanding of historical views on the experience of being Deaf as well as modern perspectives on Deaf Culture. This course highlights important figures in Deaf history and details significant historical events that shaped the treatment of Deaf individuals and influenced the extent to which they were included in society. Deaf norms will introduced and positive influences of Deaf culture on hearing societies will be highlighted.
