POL 310 - Gender and Politics

This course focuses on the multiple dimensions of gendered politics and how women are both empowered and marginalized by political institutions and processes. This course addresses gender and politics at the local, national, and global levels of analysis with frameworks of gender, empowerment, feminism, political mobilization, and globalization. Students are expected to be engaged with both the scholarly literature on gender and politics but also relevant current events. Satisfies the Individual and Society General Education requirement.
