ENG 245 - Cartoonists and Satirists

The course explores motives and methods of cartoonists, writers, and filmmakers who strike an attitude and mock or comically send up social trends or government actions. While the course examines the uses of satire in some early works, special attention is given to Boondocks, The Daily Show, and other contemporary examples. Satisfies the Literary Perspectives General Education requirements.
