ABA 7XX - Behavioral Systems Analysis Many behavior analysts work in professional contexts requiring collaboration and consultation. In this class, we explore models of collaboration and consultation, essential skills needed for these roles, and effective ways to consult and to collaborate. Specific application projects will focus on developing training programs to build collaboration skills, on the evaluation of a program as a consultant, and identify targets (and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions) within consultation contexts. This course provides an advanced exploration of Behavioral Systems Analysis (BSA), an area within Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) that integrates behavioral science with systems thinking to improve organizational performance. Using a combination of book chapters and articles, students will analyze the contingencies that shape performance at the individual, process, and organizational levels. Emphasis will be placed on diagnosing performance gaps, designing systemic interventions, aligning organizational structures with behavioral contingencies, and applying BSA to complex change initiatives. Through readings, case analyses, and applied projects, students will develop mastery in both theoretical foundations and evidence-based practices for transforming organizations into adaptive, high-performance systems.
