IDS 302 - Interdisciplinary Methods of Inquiry

An in-depth exploration of interdisciplinary research methods, this course prepares students for Senior Research and Senior Thesis/Capstone. Students learn to analyze complex problems through the lens of major theories in social and cultural analysis, identify their own discipline or interdisciplinary field of inquiry, formulate a research problem within that field, and synthesize secondary sources to investigate it. The course culminates in a draft proposal for a senior thesis/capstone project. Satisfies the Writing Designated core requirement. Satisfies the Writing Designated core requirement.
Prerequisites & Notes Junior class status in English, history, liberal studies, or international studies majors or permission of instructor
