MSAT 506 - Advanced Emergency Management

Prepares students to recognize, assess, treat, and refer emergent and non-emergent injuries and illnesses. Some techniques and conditions include: spine boarding and splinting techniques for various injuries, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillator (AED) for cardiac care, advanced airway techniques for cessation of breathing or obstruction, the use of glucometer, peak flow meter, pulse oximeter, rectal thermometry to assess physiologic and neurovascular function, as well as, other methods for ensuring patient mortality.
