ED 125 - Approaches to Secondary Education

This course provides students with an overview of middle and secondary school education, including social and government forces that influence today’s schools, the legal and ethical issues educators must consider, the impact of diverse student learners on teaching and learning, and other key topics in the field. The course will also introduce students to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Common Core of Learning and Curriculum Frameworks with an emphasis on curriculum development, design and implementation at the middle and secondary levels.
