HST 317 - Civil Rights Movement A survey of the unique set of events, circumstances and struggles that shaped the U.S. in the 1950’s and 60’s collectively known as the Civil Rights Movement. This course offers an analytical examination of the freedom movement which continues to this day by looking at the African-American struggle for freedom, justice and equality beginning in 1954 with the historic Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision to the present. Satisfies the Arts and Humanities core requirement.
