AUT 540 - Adolescents and Adults with ASD: Transition and Meaningful Engagement This course addresses the needs of adolescents and adults with autism, and will prepare students to assess and plan individual treatment plans to ensure meaningful outcomes. Assessment of vocational readiness, employment option preference, and relevant social/navigation skills will be thoroughly reviewed. Models of employability will be reviewed, with a focus on reducing barriers to work, increasing the acceptance of employers to individuals with ASD, and evaluating the success of employment from a number of perspectives. Creative housing models will also be covered. In addition, quality of life will be a main focus of the class.
