ABA 512 - Verbal Behavior This is a Master level course on the theoretical basis of the analysis of verbal behavior as it relates to the Science of Human Behavior. The course will focus primarily on the seminal work of B.F. Skinner and his book Verbal Behavior (1957). The course will cover the biological, environmental, and motivational factors affecting human verbal behavior. Structural and developmental issues, as well as implications for language training and remediation are integrated throughout the course. Criticisms of Dr. Skinner’s work are examined, along with current empirical and conceptual advances in research and theory.
