MTH 316 - Statistics This is a first course in statistics, but it builds on the theory of probability. After quickly learning the basic statistics framework, the course takes a deeper look at hypothesis testing, regression, and forecasting, with a focus on applying these methods to real data sets. The course is taught using the R statistics package. This course is designed to cover most of the topics for the Society of Actuaries VEE competency in Statistical Methods.
Prerequisites & Notes MTH 225 or MTH 260.
