SP 322 - Latin American Short Fiction Adopting a comparative approach, the course examines how Latin American short stories reflect the region’s culture and history, and each author’s nationality, social class, and political perspective. Writers whose works are studied may include Julio Cortázar, Jorge Luis Borges, Gabriel García Marquez, Juan José Arreola, Juan Rulfo, and Isabel Allende. All texts, discussions, and assignments will be in Spanish.
Prerequisites & Notes SP 202 or permission of instructor.
