HST 317 - Civil Rights Movement A survey of the unique set of events, circumstances and struggles that shaped the United States in the 1950’s and 60’s collectively known as the Civil Rights Movement. This course offers an analytical examination of the freedom movement that continues to this day by looking at the African-American struggle for freedom, justice, and equality. This course also examines the movement’s overlap with feminist, Chicano, Native American, and gay liberation movements. Satisfies the Individual and Society General Education requirement.
