ENG 204 - American Literature II Covers important literary trends from the end of the Civil War to the turn of the twentieth century; the modern period from 1910 to 1945; and the contemporary period from 1945 to the present. The course emphasizes the ongoing American preoccupation with multiculturalism by considering the ways in which American culture both reflects and is shaped by its literature. Satisfies Literary Perspectives General Education requirement.
