The School of Business and Technology at Endicott offers degrees in Business Administration and Computer Science designed to prepare students for a lifetime of 21st century career options. By combining a theoretical foundation in the major field with breadth of knowledge in the liberal arts, the programs provide the analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving capabilities needed to support life-long learning and personal growth in a changing global and technological environment. By focusing on the acquisition of professional skills through applied learning and on-the-job experience, the programs prepare graduates for rewarding employment opportunities.

Business Administration graduates go on to be managers in varied organizational settings, both for profit and not-for-profit, from entrepreneurial start-up and small business situations to Fortune 500 global enterprises. They engage in activities ranging from corporate finance to investments, from human resources to computers, from advertising and marketing to general management responsibilities in the United States and all over the world.

Computer Science graduates move into the exciting world of information technology including positions in network and database management, web site development, programming, digital media, and electronic publishing.

Endicott graduates have unique advantages in gaining access to exciting career opportunities because since its founding the College has featured field-based career learning as a cornerstone of its educational philosophy. Fifty plus years of experience translates into knowing how to combine academic and real world experience. Experience on campus in state-of-the-art labs and in the classroom includes individualized attention and support and is systematically integrated with off-campus experience, including both structured internship and exploratory networking opportunities.

The result is a galvanizing link between theory and practice. This formula for fostering personal growth across a broad range of career interests is what distinguishes Endicott’s Business and Technology programs.

Requirement for the Business Program

The School of Business and Technology requires Business students to participate in the Business Laptop Program. Each semester, participating students will be assessed a fee and will be provided with a standardized system that includes a laptop computer, software, and related service. Additional details about the Business Laptop Program can be found linked to the Information Technology page of the Endicott College web site (www.endicott.edu).

Students entering the Business major should not purchase computers to bring to campus.

New Accounting Program of Study

A Bachelor of Science degree program in Accounting is currently under development by the School of Business and Technology and will be available to freshman students entering Endicott as of fall 2007.

Along with a background in general business, the new Accounting program will seek to develop an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles in four specific areas:  financial accounting, auditing, taxation, and management accounting.   Check Endicott’s web pages for updates throughout the year regarding the features and program of study that will be offered to students who enter in Accounting.

To be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in Massachusetts and certain other states, at least 150 semester hours of college-level coursework are required.  Endicott’s B.S in Accounting is being designed to provide the courses in business and accounting prescribed at the undergraduate level to prepare for the CPA exam; however, an additional 30 credit hours beyond the 124 required to earn a bachelors degree will typically be required of candidates who aspire to assume roles in public accountancy as Certified Public Accountants.
