ENG 308 - American Literature(Cr: 3) An exploration of American literature through the lens of genre, theme, major figures, minority voices, major events, legal documents, historical and literary periods, and/or paired texts. Possible topics include fiction, autobiography, biography, poetry, slave narratives, Indian captivity narratives, travel narratives, journals, personal letters, public testimonials, and debates, regional and ethnic representations.
Notes: Students may take more than one section of this course as long as the topic is different from one section to the next. Satisfies the Arts and Humanities and Writing Designated core requirements.
