ART 331 - Art and Social Action

This course is designed as a service learning course that will explore the intersection and practice of social activism within art therapy, community art, with the creative arts therapies and mental health counseling. Issues of culture, social justice and oppression will be addressed along with the response of community-based actions and initiatives taken by creative arts therapists, artists and service providers. National and international initiatives and projects will be studied. Satisfies the Individual and Society General Education requirement.

ART110 or PSY100 or permission of instructor.
