Environmental Science majors can pursue Massachusetts state licensure by adding the Secondary Education concentration. In doing so, they can become licensed in the state of Massachusetts to teach at the middle (5-8) or high school (8-12) levels. Students in the secondary education concentration complete freshmen and sophomore internships in a range of school settings, followed by a junior year pre-practicum and senior year full-practicum experience. Upon graduation, Endicott Education students have completed all of the requirements necessary to apply for an initial license in the state of Massachusetts and are eligible to pursue licensure in many other states.
The secondary education concentration consists of 7 courses plus a full-semester practicum. It has been approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. For more information see The School of Education Secondary Education Teacher Licensure section of the Catalog.
