Certified Applied Behavior Analysis Technician (CABA-Tech) - Certificate

This non-credit certificate program prepares classroom teacher assistants and/or paraprofessionals to use applied behavior analysis principles with autistic children. The CABA-Tech® training program is a skills-based curriculum of 5 units designed to ensure that each graduate has the skills necessary to successfully serve in the
capacity as an ABA Training Teaching Assistant. The methods used to support children with autism include: to increase behaviors, to teach new skills, to maintain behaviors, to generalize or to transfer behavior from one situation or response to another, to restrict or narrow conditions under which interfering behaviors occur, and to
reduce interfering behaviors.

The certificate program must be completed in one calendar year. Courses are offered on an open enrollment basis at Endicott’s main campus in Beverly and at selected off-campus sites in the Greater Boston area. The certificate is valid for a period of three years from the date of completion. To maintain the status of the certificate a total of 15 hours of additional training must be completed during each subsequent three-year period.

Specific Admissions Requirements
• Completion of an admissions application form and payment of a non-refundable $25 application fee payable to Endicott College.
• Graduation from an accredited high school (diploma) or completion of a GED certificate. An official transcript of the high school work or a GED certificate must be sent to  Endicott College’s Admissions Office.
• Two letters of recommendation. One letter must be from a current employer, including a commitment of support relative to the program requirements. The other letter must be from a professional with direct knowledge of the applicant’s experience in special education settings.
• Full-time or part-time employment, or internship (minimum 20 hours per week for three months or until the student completes the program), in a public school or state Department of Education approved educational setting that supports the implementation of ABA educational/treatment intervention, OR
• Full-time or part-time employment in either employment or an internship for a minimum of 20 hours per week, in a private behavioral educational consulting practice directly supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). (Please Note: Students affiliated with a private behavioral educational consulting organization must consent to and pay all fees associated witha Criminal Offenders Record Information (CORI) check.
