The School of Hospitality Management prepares students to take leadership roles in one of the largest and most diversified industries in the world with opportunities in hotels, resorts, food service, clubs, cruise lines, casinos, senior communities, wedding and conference coordination, non-profits, and events.  The World Travel and Tourism Council has projected that the hospitality and tourism industry will continue to grow annually at 4.2% until 2022.  Demand for Endicott’s hospitality professionals continues to increase providing many career opportunities for our graduates.

The School of Hospitality Management at Endicott College provides the innovative educational experience needed for success through majors in Hotal Management and Hospitality Managment.  In addition to hospitality business courses, graduates will have the depth and breadth of knowledge that comes from studying in a comprehensive liberal arts environment.  Students have faculty advisors with industry experience to mentor, guide and support their college experience.  The non-traditional classroom, La Chanterelle Restaurant, provides a hands-on learning experience.  The School also has an educational collaboration with The Wylie Inn and Conference Center at Endicott College, providing operational examples for multiple hospitality classes.  Upon graduation, students will have gained the knowledge and insights to become leaders in the hospitality industry.

Last year, 66% of graduating hospitality seniors completed an international experience while at Endicott. This reflects our recognition of hospitality management as a global industry. The School of Hospitality Management has four dedicated international hospitality partners including Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom, Apicius International School of Hospitality in Italy, and the International College of Management in Australia. At Les Roches Hotel Management School in Switzerland, Endicott students can now earn a Swiss Hotel Management Diploma.  The dual credential program allows students to obtain an internationally recognized Swiss Hotel Management diploma and an Endicott bachelors’ degree combining the best of American management techniques and the Swiss reputation for hospitality education.  These two credentials will give students competitive advantages in the work force.  Students also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of other international programs offered by the College. In a global economy, international experience provides a competitive edge in the job market.

What students learn in the classroom is only part of what they will experience at Endicott.  Students are able to apply and expand on their coursework through many opportunities available on campus.  Oneof the on-campus options that appeal to hospitality students is Eta Sigma Delta, (ESD) an international hospitality honor society governed by the International Council of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Educators (ICHRIE).  This honor society recognizes hospitality students for outstanding academic achievement, service, and professionalism.  Another option is the Endicott Events Management Organization (EEMO),a unique student organization designed to help students learn and participate in the events industry.  Meetings provide the opportunity to interact with peers and network with industry guest speakers. Student members also plan and execute an annual event. In addition the student chapter of the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) provides networking opportunities with industry professionals on and off campus.

The School of Hospitality Management is committed to each student’s personal success through academic choice.  The School offers a Hotel Management degree to prepare students for leadership positions in the lodging industry. Through the Hospitality Management degree, students have the flexibility of creating their own area of specialization. Students may choose from the general Hospitality Management option or develop areas of expertise in: Events Management, Senior Community Management or International Hospitality Management.

The Endicott mission of internships and applied learning is emphasized within the School of Hospitality Management.
