IA 550 - Interior Architecture Educational Practicum I FA
This course is the first of a two-part intensive practicum in interior architecture education, focusing on teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and instructional effectiveness. Students are assigned to a full-time faculty mentor, gaining hands-on experience in classroom critiques, lecturing, and course facilitation. Weekly seminars cover key topics such as public speaking and communication, interior design accreditation standards, curriculum planning, teaching effectiveness strategies, and current instructional models. Students engage in structured teaching exercises, including preparing and delivering presentations, receiving feedback, and participating in mock lectures. By the end of the semester, students will develop fundamental teaching strategies and gain insight into interior architecture education through guided practice and discussion.
