This course closely analyzes the motives of characters who defy authority or their times in selected stories, novellas, poems, and films. Examination of characters who choose to drop out or are ostracized are also conducted, deciding who deserves our sympathy and why. Satisfies the Literary Perspectives General Education requirements.
