IST 217 - Immigrants and Refugees in World and United States History The course addresses the history of immigration and refugee systems around the world and in the US, as well as the fundamental legal principles on immigration, citizenship, and immigrants’ rights, and contextualizes the situation of refugees in international law and US legal system. The course will also introduce students to the refugee crisis around the world and the role of key international actors such as the UNHCR, international NGOs, and US-based immigration and refugee organizations.
Prerequisites & Notes Satisfies the Writing Designated core requirement.
