MTH 106 - Principles of Mathematics for Educators I This first course in mathematics education is designed for prospective elementary school teachers. The focus of the course is the development of the real number system from an informal point of view through the study of sets, relations, and operations using a variety of problem solving strategies. The emphasis is on problem solving and whole number operations because this strand reflects a central role in K-8 mathematics.
