ECE 505 - Role of Play in Early Childhood Education

This course explores the impact of play upon the social, emotional and cognitive development of young children. Students will demonstrate knowledge of the theories and research on play and be able to identify types of play, delineate the benefits of play, recognize the practical applications of play to the early childhood curriculum, evaluate play environments, and design an environment that promotes the child’s development.
