ENG 245 - Cartoonists and Satirists The course explores motives and methods of cartoonists, writers and filmmakers who strike an attitude, mock or comically send up “wrong headed” social trends or government actions. While we will examine uses of satire in some early works, special attention will be given to Aaron McGruder’s Boondocks, Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show, and other contemporary examples. Satisfies Literary Perspectives General Education and Writing Designated core requirements.
