POL 325 - Music and the State A comparative analysis of issues raised by the state’s role in the production and distribution of music as well as the political and social uses and consequences of music including censorship, artistic freedom, ideological domination, economic development, and marketplace regulation. The focus will be on popular music forms such as rock, rap, reggae and country. Satisfies the Social Science core requirement.
Prerequisites & Notes Prerequisite: One social science class.
