PE 101 - Foundations of Pedagogy Provides a framework for students to explore how teachers and students construct their learning and the types of learning environments that can be cultivated. The components of this framework include: the historical context of education, defining the philosophy of education, the science and art of teaching, the organization and culture of education, and the ethical dimensions of educational decision making. Students will utilize observation instruments to analyze physical educators practicing in public and private school settings with an emphasis on the seven legal duties of a physical education teacher.
