AMS 350 - The Automobile in American Life Touching on the history of American labor, technology, business, culture, cities, and design, this course will examine how the automobile has revolutionized American society over the last century. The ways in which an American “car culture” changed social mores, created new leisure opportunities, and spurred the development of suburbs, roadside architecture and auto oriented institutions such as motels and strip malls will also be explored. Satisfies the Social Science core requirement.
