SP 420 - Modern Spanish Novel (Offered in Spain) A study of the evolution of the Spanish novel from the generation of 1898 to contemporary times. Particular attention will be given to the reaction against the realism of the 19th century. The themes examined will cover the subject of female novelists and the birth of a more subjective and personal narrative within the context of the European literary movements of the time. Taught in Spanish.
