The School of Hospitality Management is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA), which ensures that the school meets or exceeds standards of educational excellence.

The World Travel and Tourism Council has projected that hospitality and tourism will continue to grow at an annual rate of 4.2% until 2022. As such, demand for qualified professionals will continue to increase, providing many career opportunities for our graduates. The School of Hospitality Management seeks to prepare students for leadership roles in this large and diverse industry, with career opportunities in hotels, resorts, food service, clubs, cruise lines, casinos, senior communities, conferences, nonprofits, and special events.

The school offers innovative educational experience through degree programs in hotel management and hospitality management, along with concentrations in events management and international hospitality management. To enhance hospitality business courses, students gain a depth and breadth of knowledge that comes from studying in a comprehensive liberal arts environment. All faculty
members of the school have industry experience and become active advisors to mentor, guide, and support each student. The non-traditional classroom and student-operated restaurant,
La Chanterelle, provides a hands-on learning experience in both the business side and service side of running an establishment; and the school’s collaboration with the on-campus Wylie Inn and Conference Center provides many opportunities to develop operational expertise. Upon graduation, students have the knowledge and insights to become leaders in the hospitality industry.

The School of Hospitality Management recognizes the global nature of the hospitality industry and encourages students to study or intern abroad. The majority of hospitality students participate in an international program or experience. International hospitality partners include Les Roches Hotel Management School in Switzerland, American College of Greece in Athens, Apicius International School of Hospitality at Florence University of the Arts in Italy, Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management in the United Arab Emirates, and the International College of Management in Australia. At Les Roches, Endicott students may earn a Les Roches diploma, which combines the best of American management techniques and the Swiss reputation for hospitality education. These two credentials give students a competitive advantage in the work force.

What students learn in the classroom is only part of what they will experience at Endicott. Students are able to apply and expand on their coursework through many clubs and social networking opportunities available on campus. Two student organizations unique to the School of Hospitality Management provide opportunities to interact with industry professionals: Endicott Events Management Organization
(EEMO) and a student chapter of the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA). In addition, students who qualify may be inducted into Eta Sigma Delta (ESD), an international hospitality honor society governed by the International Council of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Educators (ICHRIE). The society recognizes junior and senior hospitality students for outstanding academic achievement, service, and professionalism.

To prepare students for a very hands-on industry, Endicott’s internship requirements are key facets of the management programs. The 120-hour internships in the freshman and sophomore years allow students to gain initial experience for their potential careers, and the semester-long internship is an opportunity to have a substantive experience in a local, national or international setting.
