The mission of the Endicott College School of Nursing and Health Sciences is to prepare graduates to practice in a complex and ever-changing health care environment. Preparation for practice will be based on evidence-based theoretical knowledge and structured, supervised clinical instruction. The educational process will incorporate the student as an active participant and through the use of innovative teaching approaches will foster a collaborative and interactive classroom environment in which students are encouraged to be self-learners, responsible for the depth and breadth of their acquired knowledge. The professional standards of nursing will provide the foundation for the development of critical thinking skills, ethical reasoning, and therapeutic communication skills. Curriculum integration of global issues and medico-legal concepts will insure that students can participate in society as educated, culturally competent, socially responsible individuals who respect others and the environment and are accountable to protect and promote the well-being of those assigned to their care. Inherent in this mission is that the student will remain a self-learner throughout his/her lifespan and will be committed to both personal and professional development.

In the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, clinical education experiences in a variety of settings provide students with the work experience other students might gain through internships. Clinical education experiences provide students with an opportunity to apply what they are learning in the classroom. Nursing students in the Bachelor program take a Nursing course that includes a laboratory and/or clinical experience every year and one internship experience in the senior year.
