MUS 229 - Power of Film Music

This course studies the evolution of film music and how it is used in the most important 20th century films. Students will analyze film scenes to examine: the role of music in a film, various approaches to how music is used in a film, and how music helps tell the story to create a compelling film. Students will gain an understanding of film music’s cultural importance and how it can affect our emotional response. Satisfies Aesthetic Awareness and Creative Expression and Writing Designated General Education requirements.
